Special Session 9
Operation and Control for Security and Stability of Cross-Regional Transmission Corridors and Sending/Receiving-End Grids

"跨区域输电通道与送受端电网安全稳定运行及控制"

Cross-regional transmission corridors, especially ultra-high voltage (UHV) AC/DC and long-distance transmission projects, are critical to delivering power from large-scale renewable energy bases to load centers, and their secure and stable operation directly affects the security of sending-end and receiving-end grids. Meanwhile, with high penetration of renewable energy and power electronic devices, sending-end and receiving-end grids themselves are also facing new stability challenges such as reduced inertia, insufficient voltage support, frequency/rotor-angle instability, and wideband oscillations. This special session provides a platform for researchers, engineers, and practitioners to exchange and discuss cutting-edge research on the planning, construction, operation, and control of cross-regional transmission corridors and sending-end/receiving-end grids.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
(1) planning, siting, and construction of cross-regional transmission corridors; | 跨区域输电通道规划、选址与建设;
(2) operational security, risk assessment, and resilience of transmission corridors; | 输电通道运行安全、风险评估与韧性;
(3) impacts of corridor faults/disturbances, such as DC blocking and commutation failure, on sending-end and receiving-end grids; | 直流闭锁、换相失败等通道故障/扰动对送受端电网的影响;
(4) stability analysis and control of sending-end and receiving-end grids under high renewable energy penetration; | 高比例新能源接入下送受端电网稳定分析与控制;
(5) coordinated control, protection, and emergency response for corridor–grid interactions; | 通道—电网相互作用的协调控制、保护与应急响应;
(6) advanced modeling, simulation, artificial intelligence, and digital twin applications for security and stability assessment. | 面向安全稳定评估的先进建模、仿真、人工智能与数字孪生应用。

This special session aims to promote theoretical innovation and engineering practice for the secure and stable operation and efficient transmission of cross-regional power.
